Bird Lamp - Rachel

I simply couldn't resist this robin, beak laden with a worm (prior to the photo) s/he landed atop this lamp and posed. Looking at the light it appears there may be a nest inside the lamp housing... perhaps s/he was heading home for the evening.

Silhouette - Rachel

Acrylic on paper. I have these fabulous photos of a blue jay in silhouette and wanted to use them in some way so I tried my hand at painting with acrylic again. Clearly I had some frustrations here: Blending, not blending, trying to capture the "final" result, etc. At least I like the results of the silhouette itself. I can only begin to imagine the frustrations Amy was experiencing with oils...
