Modigliani Women~

I'm posting these for Amy. Amy I did these last year in a class and fell in love with egg tempra. I would love to do it again and perhaps as a group. Working with pure pigment and egg is deeply sensually satisfying. The color is rich and immediate. I found working with egg and pigment very gratifying! As like most art the colors do not read or transfer well here and are deeper and richer in quality. Perhaps all us women could get together and do some Modigiliani Women. You have the eggs we could all pitch in and spilt some pigment. I have a great source to buy raw pigment.

Kissing the Possible - Rachel

Reflections are fascinating to me: They're the same yet different, and sometimes there is a bit of magic to be found in them. Today I paid a very quick visit to the zoo before picking up the kids at school and this little giraffe seemed drink in both the water and his own image. As a zoo animal he's well cared for, but I can imagine him seeing different possibilities for the giraffe in the mirror. Don't we all sometimes wonder what's on the other side of our looking glass?

A New Photo - Robin

Okay yes. I did steal this flower while I was at the cemetery today - but it's not what you think.
I took it off of a tulip/magnolia (Lori ?) tree and then I took it home and I shot it!

Ranaca laca laca

Ranunculus is such a funny word/name and very hard to pronounce and remember. When I first fell for them many, many years ago, me and my dearest friend could never remember the name and we would play with the word, saying you know those Ranaca laca coulouses, well still to this day that memory floods my mind when I see these beautiful spring rhizomes.

Ranunculus come in such fun vibrant colors and make the most beautiful bouquets and cut arrangements. They are just one more reason to love spring.

Red Poppy - Robin

This isn't a new one but it is one of my favorites. It  just screams, "SPRING!" to me. ;-)
